Mission Statement
The Stated Mission of the Initiative is to:
Spearhead a collaborative effort designed to bring the necessary stakeholders together to revitalize the City of Jeannette, both economically and socially through the development of programs and activities that benefit, stabilize and bring dignity to the community.
Our Vision
Situated in western Westmoreland County, the City of Jeannette is a traditional, family-oriented, community that celebrates its industrial history and strong ethnic connections, including both its Italian and German heritage. The central business district of Jeannette is a safe, attractive, and thriving location for customers, residents and investors alike.
The Downtown Jeannette of the 21st Century is …
A supportive location for both national and international manufacturers. Jeannette is a welcoming community that endeavors to meet the diverse needs of its dynamic manufacturing sector.
A celebratory destination for diverse ethnic cultures, the arts and culinary delights. The Jeannette central business district (CBD) sustains its various ethnic heritages with a strong menu of dining options, and arts-related, cultural and food oriented special events.
An age and family-friendly central business district for people of all ages. The Jeannette CBD works diligently to ensure that it is safe, clean and green and provides a variety both residential and customer amenities.
A center for local services and goods at affordable prices for local residents. Jeannette is also home to many worship sites providing for the spiritual needs of its residents.
This vision for the Jeannette Central Business District shall be achieved through a strong public, private, non-profit (P3) partnership led by the Jeannette Initiative as the “backbone organization” in close partnership with the City of Jeannette and other community organizations.

Rob McLaughlin
My name is Dr Robert McLaughlin, Graduate of Jeannette High School class of 1973, a retired dentist who practiced 38 years in my hometown with my South 5th Street office located only 2 blocks from my parent’s home. My wife of 40 years, Susan (Casale) and I reside in the Irwin area of Penn Trafford school district. Since retirement from traditional practice in 2017, I have stayed busy with Missions Dentistry in Africa, South America, Mexico, and other non-profit US Dental Service programs. Starting in 2012, I developed & am still enjoying my second career as a professional photographer and Tour guide, doing photography workshops & sightseeing tours in Italy and Ireland during May through September.
My gratitude and commitment to my loyal friends & patient-citizens of Jeannette was a catalyst also for my involvement with the Mosaic Community Development Center. There and at Mosaic Community Church, I am fortunate to be able to teach, encourage, and support Jeannette youth who wish to grow in leadership & faith principles for life improvement.

Kramer Frye
ASSISTANT TREASURER
My name is Kramer and I am a Jeannette resident, a downtown property and business owner, and proud University of Pittsburgh alum. I grew up on the border of North Huntingdon and White Oak, graduated from Norwin High School, and earned my BSBA - HR Management in 2016. I am a Recruitment Relationship Manager for an international dialysis provider and my wife Hannah, a Registered Dental Hygienist, and I own Jeannette Dreams LLC, which provides housing within the city to traveling healthcare professionals, and leases commercial space to two downtown start-up businesses. Hanah and I are also approved renovators with the Redevelopment Authority of Westmoreland County.
My wife and I are passionate and involved community members who volunteer to direct parades, clean up sidewalks, frequently walk the town over, and support local businesses as often as possible. In 5 short years, we’ve lived in Paruco Park on the city’s south side, central business district near City Hall, and just bought a house on the city’s north side. I am also a diehard Pitt fan.
We owe Jeannette and our wonderful neighbors in Paruco Park, as well as our fellow business owners downtown, a debt of gratitude for welcoming us as first-time home buyers, new business owners, and instilling within us the Jeannette spirit, despite us being township transplants. Our dreams and vision for the city became the namesake for our LLC. Through the Jeannette Initiative, I know the other board members, committee members and I can bring more beauty and prosperity back to this proud, welcoming, and deserving city.
