Our Committees

  • Empowered to act on behalf of the full board when necessary. Its main purpose is to facilitate decision making between board meetings or in urgent and crisis circumstances. It also acts as the communication link to the Executive Director and, performs the Executive Director’s annual performance evaluation. Consists of the Board Officers.

  • Focuses on the internal strength, structure, and sustainability of the organization. Its role is to make sure the nonprofit has the leadership, governance, volunteers, and systems needed to operate effectively. This Committee helps to build the organization’s capacity and long-term stability.

  • Helps promote the organization’s mission, programs, and events so the nonprofit can reach more people, attract supporters, and increase funding. This includes promotional strategy and campaign planning, as well as day-to-day operations.

  • Focuses on the visual appearance, physical infrastructure, and overall aesthetics of the neighborhood, district, or facilities the organization serves. Its goal is to improve the physical environment so the area is more attractive, functional, and welcoming for residents, businesses, and visitors.

  • Focuses on strengthening the local economy, supporting businesses, and promoting economic growth in the community the organization serves. Its role is usually to develop strategies, partnerships, and programs that support local businesses and economic opportunity.

  • Focuses on improving the safety, cleanliness, and environmental quality of the community or spaces the nonprofit serves. This type of committee is common in community development organizations, neighborhood nonprofits, parks groups, and community associations. The Committee often plans Community Clean-Up Days, where volunteers come together to clean up around the neighborhood.

  • Focuses specifically on helping the organization generate financial support. The main role is to plan, support, and expand fundraising efforts, while ensuring that Board Members are engaged in fundraising strategy, decision-making, and participation.

  • In charge of planning, coordination, and execution for the Jeannette Food Trucks & Concert Series, which takes place in Jeannette throughout the summer (every other Thursday from June 4 – September 10).
